“O drug!” said I aloud, “what art thou good for? Thou art not worth to me,
no, not the taking off of the ground; one of those knives is worth all this
heap; I have no manner of use for thee; e’en remain where thou art and go to
the bottom as a creature whose life is not worth saving.” However, upon second
thoughts, I took it away. . . .
In this quotation, Robinson describes the money as a “drug”. Robinson
finds the money and starts to think. And then he understands that it is worthless.
Because he lives alone in this island and he don’t need to money. But he takes
the money interestingly because he thinks that if someone comes to island, he
gives the money for returning his country. I understood that he loves to money
in every case and he still believes that money can solve everything.
